This walk is extremely simple to follow and circles the lake.

There is often a Burger Van in the car park at the watersports centre.

From the watersports centre head through the gate at the land end of the centre and follow the path across an area of grass on your right hand side. This will bring you onto a tarmaced road. Follow the road until you reach a gate on your left hand side. As you proceed along the road there are some good views of the lake.

Pass through the gate to continue on the walk. If you carry on down the road you will very shortly reach the water ski centre.
This is where you may be pulled round part of the lake by a cable system.

Once you have passed through the gate follow the path you will eventually go round the end of the lake and start walking up the other side.

At this point the path becomes part of the transpennine trail that runs from Hull to Liverpool.

You will eventually pass through a gate. Pass through the gate and continue along the path. At this point you are directly across the lake from the watersports centre.

You will eventually come to the end of the main lake where you can turn right across a causeway and cross to the other side of the lake and on to the finish or carry straight on and follow the path round the next lake.

If you choose to follow the path round the next lake keep on the main path round the head of the lake. As you reach the opposite side you pass through a gate and the path becomes tarmaced.

You will shortly pass the opposite end of the causeway

From here join the path next to the lake and head back to the shopping area.

There are a lot of ducks and other water birds along this path.
