Situated by the side of Tal y llyn lake at the foot of Cader Idris the setting of the Pen y Bont Hotel is spectacular. The pub is on the B4405 road about 20 minutes drive from Tywyn.
From the pub you look may look out over the lake and the mountains while enjoying your drink. There are plenty of good walks in the area Including
the walk up Cader Idris one of Wales more famous mountains. There is a campsite at the far end of the lake. The campsites a perfect base for walking up Cader Idris as it is at the start of one of
the paths to the summit. The Pen y Bont Hotel makes a perfect place to relax after. A Short drive down the valley at Abergynolwyn is the Tal y llyn railway that runs down the valley to the Coast at Tywyn. This is one of the Great Little Trains of Wales.
