This is a superb isolated moorland pub There are some great moorland walks many around the reservoirs in the area and it is a few hundred yards off the route of the Pennine way. It lies in an area known as the Forest of Trawden on the Hebbden Bridge to Colne road Visit Multimap for more details.

If you follow the Pennine way north for about 1 -2 hours depending on your walking speed you will reach Top Withens Brought to life by the Bronte Sisters from the nearby Hawarth in the novel Wuthering Heights.
